How to Advertise With Facebook Using a Business Location
If you have a local brick and mortar business, such as a dry cleaner, pizza shop, or jewelry store, using Facebook Local Awareness ads can be a great way to promote your business. Here are steps for setting this up:
Tips to Get Started
1. Using only one address per campaign is recommended.
2. Give something away to attract people to your location.
3. Local awareness ads show up on mobile and desktop news feeds.
Use local ads to get people to go to your physical location for things such as events, giveaways, book signings, discounts (ex: 20% off everything) etc. The offer should be something that is available for a limited time at your location, such as a pizza shop giving away a free slice of pizza on Sunday from 1:00-3:00.
Using Graphics
Use graphics related to your offer. For example, if you are a pizza shop giving away free pizzas, you might show a slice of pizza or show someone holding pizza.
Setting up Your Campaign
To begin setting up your campaign, choose the Local Awareness or Store Visits option in Facebook Ads Manger.
Next, you will be asked to set up your address:
Follow the instructions to create your account. After setting this up, you will be able to create an ad. To help you create your post, you can use tools such as Canva, PicMonkey, and Heyo.
When using your Ads Manager account, chose the option to create a campaign, choose your objective, and select your post.
Target a Location
One option for choosing a location is to create a geographical radius. Another option is to choose the “More Demographics” dropdown to navigate to “Work” and then to the subcategory “Employers” to enter the name of a certain business.
Establish a Budget
To establish your budget, enter the length of time you want to run the ad and the amount you want to spend daily. You can start with as little as $2-$5 a day.
