How to Manage a Facebook Group for Your Business
Why should you create a Facebook group for your business? Creating a group can help you to better connect with your audience and find out what their interests and concerns are, help you to build your email list, and sell products.
Creating Your Group
You should create a group that is related to your business and ideal client. For example, if you sell courses to Facebook marketers, then you could create a group about Facebook marketing.
When setting up your group, you will be asked if you want to create an open or closed group. A closed group is preferable because it allows you to choose who can join the group. It also helps to protect the privacy of those in the group.
Organizing Content for Your Group
Are you unsure about what you should post into the group to start the conversation and how to keep it going? You can create a regular weekly schedule of posts with themes such as:
Mondays: Motivation or goals for the week.
Tuesdays: Your best tips.
Wednesdays: Ask your group what they are working on or let them win something.
Thursdays: Ask your group to post a picture of an accomplishment they are proud of.
Fridays: Allow your group to post their services or recommendations.
Growing Your Membership
One way to promote your group and help grow your membership is to place a link in the top navigation bar of your website that says “Free FB Group.” You can also promote your group on social media and link to your group in your social profiles. You can even share your group link in other places such as in guest blog posts, on interviews or podcasts, and more.
Finding Topics from Your Group
By reading posts in the group, you can gather topics that people are interested in, struggling with, and want to learn about. List this information in a spreadsheet. You will be able to use it to create free and paid content.
Evaluating the Topics
Rate each of the topics based on how likely they are to produce income for you if you created paid content for them and based on how interested your ideal customers would be in the topic.
Create a poll of your top topics inside of your Facebook group and ask people which topic they are most interested in. Add the scores to the other ratings to find your top topic. You can use the topics you found to create and sell courses and other products.
