5 Tips for Creating an Effective Webinar
Webinars have become a popular way to sell online courses and services and are regarded as one of the top marketing methods. They are effective because you can speak to many people at the same time, the people feel like they are part of a group and they can quickly get to know, like, and trust you. These factors are important for making a sale. In this article, we present some tips for putting together a great webinar presentation.
1. Choose a Webinar Platform
To find the best webinar platform for your needs, do some internet research. Some popular webinar platforms include GoToWebinar, Easy Webinars, and Webinars OnAir. To keep people interested and anticipating the webinar before it begins, email them tools such as worksheets and checklists. Also email them reminders of the webinar one day and one hour before the webinar begins. You can even include an option on the webinar sign up page that will send a text to a participant’s phone before the webinar begins.
2. Prepare a Script
Before you prepare a script, find a topic to focus on for your webinar that your audience would be interested in. The first 10 to 15 minutes of your webinar should build excitement and interest and illustrate how you learned what you are about to teach them and highlight those topics. In the next 30 minutes of the webinar, start teaching some things about your topic. In the final 10 minutes, offer your product or service.
3. Engage Your Audience
To share files with your participants, you can use Whiteboards inside of the webinar. You can also use polls and questions when the webinar begins to get people engaged and to find out what they know about the topic. Doing a question and answer session at the end of the webinar also helps to build a connection with your audience.
4. Prepare Slides
Have a consistent color scheme throughout your presentation and use engaging slides. Use text and graphics that can be quickly understood since you will not show each slide for very long (move to the next slide after about 20-40 seconds). Try to use images whenever possible rather than using text because images help to keep people engaged better than using lots of text. To support your offer, show testimonials and case studies.
5. Promote Your Webinar
There are several ways to promote your webinar such as on your social media platforms, to your newsletter subscribers, or by writing blogs. You can partner with other businesses to do webinars with them, or be a guest on their podcast. Another way to promote is to use ads such as Facebook ads that lead people to a landing page where they can sign up to the webinar.
